Christmas-What's it all about?'
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotton Son that whoever should believe in Him should not perish but have eternal life" John 3 v 16
Christmas is a very special time for Christians. It is a time when we remember just how much God loves us. You see, God is not a distant God who sits on a cloud some where, uninterested in His creation. He is a God who passionately cares about each one of us. God cares so much that He sent His Son (Jesus) to live amongst us, so that we could see just what God is like. He didn't come as a King to sit on a throne, He came as a helpless baby. That helpless baby grew up to become a man, a man who spent time with the lonely, with outcasts and with the kind of people that we often reject. He healed those who were ill and he loved all He came into contact with. He showed us that God is interested in us and wants to help us. And through His death and resurection He made it possible for us to be forgiven for the things we do wrong, so that we can have a friendship with God. What a God! It really is no wonder that Christians get so excited about Jesus, and that we love to celebrate His coming into the world at Christmas time!!
Why not join us in celebrating Christmas this year, whatever your beliefs you will be warmly welcomed at any of our events.
We also realise that Christmas can be a time of mixed emotions, for some it is a time of great joy and happiness, but for others it may be a difficult and stressful time and for some it may be a time of sadness. If Christmas is a difficult time for you and you would like someone to pray with or for you then please do get in touch with us using our contact form, and we will be happy to meet and pray with you.
